Husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary.Poor Joseph. He's pretty much ignored in the gospels (Jesus had but one Father, and Joseph ain't it) and consequently almost nothing is known about him. Nothing is even recorded of him speaking. Mind you, it's probably not that different for any other father - once the kids come along life is pretty much just about the kids, and occasionally the mum...;)
Nonetheless, as I always like to say, the guy who taught us to call God 'Daddy' got his concept of what a daddy was from Joseph...so he can't have been that bad. So here's to fathers - whether ignored or celebrated, being who we are made to be.
