Lilla Watson's quote is going around in my head at the moment as perhaps the best basis for a genuinely nonviolent and just life. Mostly it's my manifesto for why I do what I do now:

If you have come here to help me
you are wasting your time.
But if you have come because
your liberation is bound up with mine,
then let us work together.
